Concarneau, Brittany’s walled town

Concarneau, a town of art and history in the Finistère, is a condensation of Brittany : historic heritage, fishing harbours and marinas, fine sandy beaches and watersports.  This former military stronghold was built in the 14th century then altered by Vauban in the 17th century.  The granite ramparts, towers, drawbridge and moats bear witness to Concarneau’s naval and military past.
